Let’s get to the point, there are only three types of tire options when it comes to wheel loaders and other support equipment in the Waste industry:
Firstly, a pneumatic tire. While an air tire provides a nice ride, it really isn’t an option for transfer station operators because of downtime due to flats, creating lost productivity, and the safety risk of air’s explosive force.

Most users gravitate to a solid tire because of their lower price points, minimal downtime, low cost per hour and obvious flat free benefits, however they sacrifice the ride to achieve these goals. Did you know there are two types of solids: traditional bonded/molded rims and press-on solid pneumatics with OEM rims. While OEM rims are costly they do come with benefits, such as lower replacement tire costs compared to the bonded/molded type solids and furthermore when it is time to sell your loader, buyers are more attracted to purchasing a machine with an OEM/pneumatic style wheel.
Thirdly, a high quality reusable tire filling system such as Trojan Soft Core.
